Susan Erskine-Jones began work as a full-time artist in South Africa before moving to the UK in the early 90s.
She now lives in South Bedfordshire where she continues to work in both printmaking and painting.
She is inspired by the landscapes around her, although the early impressions and memories of the open spaces, the coast and the clear light of the South African Cape still strongly influence her art.
I want people to see my paintings and respond to the shapes, colours, and
textures, and the way they interact with each other. I want this to be the initial impact,
not simply to recognise the area.
